So tonight I found out that my friend, Ashley, received the Zachary Headden Memorial Scholarship and the John Philip Sousa Band Award at Los Altos’ Awards Banquet. Words cannot express how proud of her I am at the moment. At the same time though, I cannot believe how much time has passed since I was in high school. It doesn’t seem like too long ago when she and Douglas came into rookie band camp and started learning how to march, play “Conquistadores” and competing over the “Power Ball” haha. Now she is going off to college! Man, I guess time really does fly by. I know I told you this before but congratulations Ashley! I’m really proud of your accomplishments and the fine young lady you have become these past four years. I wish you the very best in college and look forward to hanging out with you one of these days. :)

Ram on… Give your heart to somebooooooodeh, soooooooooooon, riiight away!
Ram On by Paul McCartney
This song… words can’t describe how much I love it!
My right arm is going to be freaking buff! Haha I’ve been practicing beating time so much it’s not funny! I’m glad I finally got it down though. I just need to work on my round houses and flourishes. Man, I don’t think I have been this excited for a DM tryout since my senior year of high school! Haha
Starring // Freelance Whales
Look at both my inkwells brimmin’; I was much less understanding, then.
So recently I’ve developed a slight crush on the bass player for Freelance Whales. She is so freakin’ adorable! She seems so nice and down to earth and that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! X) Anywho, here is a video of her performing…. DON’T JUDGE ME!
Another band I’ve been getting into again lately is Freelance Whales. They are an “indie pop” group based out of Queens, New York. They kinda met in an unusual way haha. They all found each other by posting ads on craigslist about wanting to start a band. Another fun fact about this group is that Darren Chris’ brother, Chuck Chris, is in this group. He is the guy who plays the bells in this song. They kinda have an unorthodox sound compared to other “indie pop” groups out right now but hopefully you enjoy it! :)
While I was doing P90X today my right arm started to hurt. I didn’t dislocate it or anything and it was fine initially but as the workouts went on it started to hurt more and more. I had to stop with 16 minutes left because the pain was hindering my form. It seems fine now but whenever I put a lot of pressure on it starts to hurt a bit. I think the next few days I’m gonna take it easy and not work too hard to see if it gets better.
